Faculty

One of the greatest strengths of The Raleigh School is a dedicated, experienced faculty that demonstrates a caring commitment to each child.

Our faculty is committed to developing educational programs that work to preserve and enhance each child’s innate curiosity and love of learning. Varied professional development opportunities promote excellence in teaching. Curricular development is ongoing and responsive to student needs.

Stability and experience are hallmarks of The Raleigh School faculty. Our elementary teachers all have four-year degrees in Education and several have advanced degrees or are Nationally Board Certified. Preschool teachers have degrees in early childhood education or a related field. Assistant teachers also have four-year degrees in a variety of fields and bring a breadth of experience that enriches classroom learning. We work to put together teams of teachers whose strengths complement one another with an eye toward longevity. Many of our teaching teams have worked together for four or more years with at least one team sharing a classroom for more than ten years!

Faculty members at The Raleigh School constantly seek out ways to be involved in the larger educational community. Our teachers are active in various professional organizations, including the International Reading Association, National Association for the Education of Young Children and the National Science Teachers Association. Several have served as consultants to textbook companies and present regularly at local and national conferences. Members of our faculty also act as mentors for college students studying Child Development and Education. Our faculty collectively has over 600 years dedicated to the education of children.
